Seth Rogen and Kristen Wiig to guest star in season four of Arrested Development

Bluth Family

There are few shows that are funnier and more re-watchable than Arrested Development. Back in the day (2005 actually) my friends and I would get drunk and re-watch the first two seasons over and over again. To this day whenever I mention the show to them they say, “God damn, there were so many times I passed out on your couch and woke up to the DVD menu playing the theme song. I’d be too hung over to turn it off so I just laid there listening to it for hours.” It got to the point where two of my friends and I ended up having sexual dreams about several Bluth ladies. I lucked out since mine was about Lindsay but one of the poor bastards had one involving Lucille.

US Weekly is reporting that two of the guest stars for the new season will be Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen. There isn’t any news on Seth Rogen‘s role but Vulture has an exclusive (SPOILER…run away now) that Kristen Wiig will be playing a young Lucille Bluth. (END SPOILER)

One of the many things that make Arrested Development so great has been their use of guest stars. While the guests themselves are usually pretty awesome it’s HOW they’re used that has made the show special, and the same goes for the recurring characters by Charlize Theron, Henry Winkler, and Carl Weathers.

Creator Mitch Hurwitz also mentioned to US Weekly in the article that he knows how rabid AD fans are and wants to make sure they get their dues:

“You know? Now that people started watching it, they get ahead of us, and so then I’ve started really — we’ve all started really guarding the material just to make it fun for the audience,” Hurwitz said. “We hold back information about the plot because we want to reward the fans for sticking with us, and that’s so much fun. That’s the funnest part of it.”

Usually I have no problem spoiling myself about the plot to a movie or television show but I may have to show a little bit of restraint when it comes to the new season. Still, who is Seth Rogen going to play? Does this mean Michael finally have a male friend that’s outside of his family? I want answers now dammit.

Season four of Arrested Development is set to air in May on Netflix.
