Seth Rogen reveals familiar opening tune for AMC's Preacher TV series

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are currently hard at work developing Preacher for AMC, and yesterday Rogen tweeted something that should be very familiar to fans of the Garth Ennis and Steve Dilion comic series.

Willie Nelson's "Time of the Preacher" won't be the title song, but it is the song Jesse Custer is singing the first time we meet him in the comics, and while this isn't huge news, in my opinion it's a good sign for AMC's Preacher. Evan Goldberg previously said they want to stick as close to the source material as possible with the television series, and so far things are looking good for the project.

This is the second Preacher tease tweeted by Seth Rogen, so you might want to keep an eye on his Twitter account for more updates on AMC's upcoming series.

stoked

not sure how direct they can translate this without being on HBO, but even a watered down version of Preacher will be better than ANYTHING done on network TV

People said the same about Walking Dead. AMC tends to show more than a network tv channel can though even their movies they show its always best watched on AMC than another channel because AMC will show more. So if its not on HBO then everyone should be happy its on AMC.

I'm sure some of the characters and arcs will have to change for the show. And that is a shame, hope it remains as true to the source material as they can. I'll be cautiously optimistic on this one.
