A better title, I think, would be ROMANCING THE BEEF, but what do I know?

MONSTER HOUSE and CITY OF EMBER director Gil Kenan has a "quirky love story" in the works, according to Variety, for which Shia LaBeouf has become attached to star. The film's working title is A GIANT and Kenan is both writing and directing the story that "follows a girl, broke and running from a series of bad relationships, who moves back home to reconnect with her brother. Instead she forms a relationship with a 20-foot-tall man-child who lives next door." That 20-foot-tall man-child will be played by LaBeouf. I now welcome any and all giant penis jokes in our Strike Backs below.

LaBeouf will next be seen in director John Hillcoat's incredible-sounding THE WETTEST COUNTY IN THE WORLD, about a family of Depression-era bootleggers in the American South. He's currently shooting Robert Redford's Weather Underground political thriller THE COMPANY YOU KEEP alongside a terrific cast that includes Anna Kendrick, Stanley Tucci, Nick Nolte, Susan Sarandon, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Christie, Sam Elliott, Terrence Howard, Chris Cooper, Stephen Root, and Richard Jenkins. Whew!

I was like 'oh come on, really a light rom com LaBeouf?'

but then I read it and it actually seems really fun! I love the fantasy spin on it, could be a really neat little story, I totally dig this news.

I reckon Shia LaBeouf will eventually give Leonardo DiCaprio a run for his money as "the guy in his sixties who still looks like he's in his teens".
