Short but cool clip gives us our first real look at Pixar's Day & Night

A couple of weeks ago, I talked a little bit about DAY & NIGHT, Pixar's new short which will be shown in front of TOY STORY 3 this summer. From the looks of it, you guys seemed to really like the idea and concept behind the short, which is basically 2D characters with 3D animation happening inside them. Here's the synopsis again in case you missed it the first time:

When Day, a sunny fellow, encounters Night, a stranger of distinctly darker moods, sparks fly! Day and Night are frightened and suspicious of each other at first, and quickly get off on the wrong foot. But as they discover each other's unique qualities–and come to realize that each of them offers a different window onto the same world–the friendship helps both to gain a new perspective.

The folks at /Film have got a hold of the exclusive first look of DAY & NIGHT. It's only a 15-second clip, but it's enough to give you guys a taste of what to expect from the sure to be clever and fun short. Just click the screenshot below to head over there and check it out!

Extra Tidbit: DAY & NIGHT is directed by Teddy Newton who is also responsible for the credit sequences of Brad Bird's films. Thanks to Schmoe "BrokenDreamer" for that bit of info!
