Updated: Short-list of actresses reading for Deadpool's Domino revealed

UPDATE: Collider has added four other names in the mix, including Ruby Rose, Mackenzie Davis, Kelly Rohrbach, and Eve Hewson. Add those to your guessing (Dead) pool.

So like most people with a pulse, I loved the DEADPOOL movie. It was nice to have an off-the-wall, fourth-wall breaking, unapologetic R-rated superhero movie that took potshots at the genre, while also being a good superhero romp in its own right. That's a hard balance to walk, and while I don't feel it always managed to walk it (I love the movie, but I do sometimes feel it's praise can be a bit overstated), the fact that it is as good as it is should be seen as a miracle. Who knew that an obscure, weird, Deathstroke parody rip-off would be one of the most popular anti-heroes today?

Anyway, a sequel to the film is a no-brainer for the studio, and casting for new characters has begun. While there were rumors that Kyle Chandler had gotten the role fo Cable (a character Deadpool teased at the end of the first film), there has since been no confirmation (maybe they will go with Deadpool's choice of Keira Knightley?). However, Collider has released a short-list of the actresses reading for the role of Domino.

Now, who is Domino, you might ask so I'm not the only one? Well, she's apparently another mutant mercenary who has ties to Cable (including as a romantic interest), and who barely tolerates Deadpool in a "frenemy" sort of way. Her powers, according to the Marvel wiki are:

to subliminally and psionically initiate random telekinetic acts that affect probability in her favor by making improbable (but not impossible) things to occur within her line of sight, thus causing her to have "good luck" and her opponents to have "bad luck." This phenomenon can be anything from an enemy's equipment failure to hitting just the right switch with a stray shot to shut down an overloading nuclear reactor.

That's...complicated. I wonder how they'll explain it in the film.

Anyway, here's the short-list:

Lizzy Caplan:

Mary Elizabeth Winstead:

Sofia Boutella:

Sienna Miller:

And a few other actresses have read as well, including Stephanie Sigman (SPECTRE) and Sylvia Hoeks, who is a newcomer who will make her debut in the Ryan Gosling BLADE RUNNER sequel.

Now, I don't know about you guys, while all those girls are great, I'm personally rooting for Lizzy Caplan. I've loved her since MEAN GIRLS and PARTY DOWN, and she's killed it in every role she's been in (even if the films or shows themselves were lacking). She's always cool, funny, and badass (and notice how, though she is in my opinion one of the most attractive actresses currently working today, her physical attributes are the least important part of her persona). Don't get me wrong, any one of those actresses would make a great Domino, I just would like to see Caplan as an awesome mutant assassin. Is that too much to ask?

Anyway, no release date yet for the sequel, but filming is supposed to commence sometime early 2017.

So what do you guys think of the list? And who would be your dream casting (I guess that includes living or dead)?

Extra Tidbit: Domino first appeared in X-Force, issue #8, in 1992.
