Sigourney Weaver ramping up for Vamps | Movie News

The movie that can only be described as “Sex in the City with vampires” has another sexy lady to add to the cast. Sigourney Weaver isn’t someone you’d quite expect to pop up here, but here she is as Ciccerus, an ancient, bloodline-creating vampire who spawns the films two titular vamps played by Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter.

The plot follows the two ladies who discover the option to give up their immortality for love, or something like that, while they live up the night life scene in New York City, like any modern vampire would surely do. Insert a Bloody Mary joke here. 

The film is from CLUELESS and FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH director Amy Heckerling, so we know she has the capacity to make a classic, though that was a long time ago. Weaver is a good addition here, as she’s generally pretty excellent in whatever role she shows up in, and her playing a vampire matriarch is something I might actually be interested in seeing, albeit the phrase “vampires living the good nightlife” is making me flashback to QUEEN OF THE DAMNED.

Extra Tidbit: Heckerling randomly directed the episode of The Office in season one where Amy Adams shows up to sell purses.
