Silver on JLA, WW, etc

Uberproducer Joel Silver is out pimping SPEED RACER like a madman, but he’s also throwing around some info about his many other projects.

For starters, he perhaps inadvertently gave a status update on the constantly in flux JUSTICE LEAGUE movie — when asked about how that intended superhero gathering might affect his own solo WONDER WOMAN project, he tells CHUD that it’s not cause for concern at the moment since that costumed potential debacle has been “tabled”.

As for his own WONDER WOMAN, since the exit of writer-director Joss Whedon he’s apparently got some new writers working on the script — except they’re not really “new”. According to IESB, Matthew Jennison and Brent Strickland (who penned the WWII-era spec that Warner Bros. bought just before Whedon bolted) are working on a modern-day take on the heroine, which may be an origin story.

And on top of all that, Silver took time to chat with Collider and spill casting on the Wachowskis’ next (redundantly titled) project NINJA ASSASSIN — the ever-adorable (even with gunky teeth in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN) Naomie Harris will play the female lead opposite Korean superstar Rain. Silver also says the Wachowskis already have ideas for possible SPEED RACER and NINJA sequels.
