I don't know about you, but most of us here at JoBlo are quite excited about DEADPOOL. Trailers have shown us a bloody good time and Ryan Reynolds looks like he'll be knocking it out of the park, however we know by experience that positive hype doesn't always pay off, but Simon Kinberg seems fairly confident that it will. The DEADPOOL producer spoke with Collider and said that both he and Fox are feeling "really proud" of the film.

I have seen a rough cut of Deadpool and it’s fantastic. It’s a really good movie. It delivers on the promise of the trailer…We really committed and leaned into it being R-rated. It’s just darker and edgier and weirder in the best way—like Deadpool should be—than any other movie in the genre. [Fox is] feeling good about it, we’re all feeling really proud of it.

Fox is feeling so good about DEADPOOL that talks of a sequel are already beginning to percolate. Kinberg remarked that by the time DEADPOOL debuts they should be "well into the process of figuring out a sequel.” Fingers crossed that their optimism pays off and DEADPOOL will be the winner we all hope it will be. If a sequel does come knocking, Kinberg teased that we may finally see Cable pop up in the X-Men franchise. Simon Kinberg has always wanted to see the character and even revealed that there were talks of Cable appearing in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. With director Tim Miller also commenting on Cable appearing in a DEADPOOL sequel, chances seem good that we may finally see the fan-favourite mutant in the flesh.

DEADPOOL opens on February 12, 2016.

I'm anticipating a hit with this movie. I just hope the box office reflects it so we can get a sequel. If the idea is to bring Cable into the sequel, then perhaps this will be a way to bridge Deadpool to the main X-Men films. It could work really well too. You have Cable come back in time from like 50 + years in the future for some purpose. He know Deadpool from his time but has nothing to do with him. Due to lack of resources in the current time, he's forced to team up with Deadpool. It

You have to wonder how well the film will actually perform at the box office.
If they're lucky and people actually show up for it, you'd still have to imagine it'll be subject to the law of diminishing returns for a straight sequel, but bringing in other popular mutant characters isn't a bad plan.
There's a slight degree to which maybe Kick Ass has stolen some of a Deadpool movie's possible surprise factor.
Regardless, it'll be cool to see the finished movie - should be a suitably different

If the movie is as good as that trailer,

then I'm most definitely there.

Seriously..

Ryan Reynolds is the LUCKIEST guy on the planet, this guy has been apart of more stinkers then Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch put together. This guy must seriously must have sucked major dick, because this better be his last chance, obviously this will do better then okay considering where comic movies are now, and for the fact this guy has a fricken mask on his face, seriously luckiest guy alive, i mean man wow

I agree. Part of me thinks Reynolds will be good as Deadpool, but the other part of me feels like we've already seen him play the cocky, sarcastic a-hole character that I'm kind of bored of it at this point.

Talented actors tend to get second chances. Ryan Reynolds is a really good actor, and he's established enough that casting directors won't hold his flops against him. I suspect he's enough of a pro that he hasn't burned any bridges. But I suspect, if this flops, then we won't be seeing him in any more super hero movies.

In 2009 The Proposal suggested this guy had serious potential. If you track his career from there, you have a few critical hits like Buried (a cult hit with audiences, at best), commercial disasters like Green Lantern, and then, with the exception of R.I.P.D., he mostly coasted on smaller movies and voice work. The Croods actually did good business. And really, everything pre-2009 doesn't count because he was still seen as an up-and-comer.

I've been pretty accepting of the narrative that Ryan Reynolds has had a lot of second chances. But honestly, looking back, I don't think it's that surprising. I mean, Deadpool only got made because they scaled the budget down.

Out of all of the recent comic book films to come out as of late, this one particularly feels the most for its fans. After such a long time of getting this film made and finally giving Deadpool his own film rated R film (without any regard to Origins Wolverine), this film feels like one big ode to us fans who have been waiting patiently.

Everything has looked great thus far (the suit, trailer, tone of the film), and the marketing has been spot on with Reynolds keeping us fans in the loop. I
