Sin City 2 close?

03.16.2009
In what might certainly be a throw-away comment from Rosario Dawson, it has emerged that SIN CITY 2 might not be as far away as we all thought. She mentioned to MTV:

“Yeah, I talked to Robert [Rodriguez] and Frank [Miller]... They actually just finished the script for ‘Sin City 2’ a few months ago.”

Of course, this whole thing has been going on for ages, and who knows if Mickey Rourke will want to come back, and Rodriguez is pretty busy, so the important thing here is that Rosario Dawson had a photoshoot in Complex the other day. You can check that out by clicking BELOW.

Extra Tidbit: Are people actually still bothered about this?

sinner...

like the 300, sin city had this amazing visual look to it, which we all drooled over, along with a decent story and wicked set design, etc...it'd be nice if rourke came back, rosario is freakin' hot no matter what she does, (i'd do her in eagle eye just as easily as clerks 2)but if rodriguez is directing...i'm in for sure. even with new faces. clarke-duncan has signed on to sin city 3 already, according to his page on imdb...

I don't think a sequel is really necessary for this franchise. If they make stories based on entirely new characters then it will be more interesting. They can use some of the characters from the first as background characters but I think it is best if they use new people to resolve the main stories around.

I heart rosario

Thank you so much for new spank bank material, James. Rosario is always a good reason to see any movie. And I'd definitely be excited for another Sin City!

I really don't see Rourke being a problem. But I really would like to see this movie made. I read the hell out of these comics growing up (which probobly explains alot...)

@Rogue6807

check out the books for the full explanation but basically The Big Fat Kill (featured in Sin City 1) is the sequel to Sin City graphic novel A Dame To Kill For (why they filmed the sequel first i dont know), Dame to Kill For comes first which features Rourke's character Marv in a decent sized role but also takes place before the events of The Hard Goodbye (Marv's story in Sin City 1). Hope that clears things up for you, also if they film A Dame to Kill For, Michael Clarke Duncan's character

Rourke i would bet money would come back no problem... i think him and Rodriguez have a good relationship. When Rourke wasn't getting many roles, Rodriguez cast him in 2 of his big flicks (Once Upon a Time in Mexico and Sin City). If Marv returns, Rourke will be there, i'd bet $$ on it

How can Rourke come back?

How can Mickey Rourke come back? The last time I checked he died a grusome death in the last movie. Is the next Sin City going to be a prequel? And if it is a prequel, how are they going to explain how Marv aged nine years backwards?

Frankly, while I enjoyed the first, and I love the books, much of my anticipation here hinges on whether Rourke comes back or not. Though not as big a part of "A Dame to Kill For," he's still pretty crucial there. And who else could do it?

Rodriguez and Miller have made enough crap between the two of them that I'm not that anxious for this (aside from his El Mariachi trilogy, I think "Sin City" is Rodriguez's best work). But if it all comes together, in that same magical way that the

Sweet

Yeah, Miller might have ruined The Spirit, but as long as Robert Rodriguez is involved, there's no need to worry.

Excellent!

I'm very excited as the graphic novel stories being used in "Sin City 2" are even better than the first.

BTW, I have to buy a new pair of pants after seeing those Rosario photos...*drool*...
