Sin City rights talk

Apr. 22, 2009by:

Jessica Alba, <a href=SIN CITY" /> A couple of weeks ago, we told you about The Weinstein Co. debunking an apparent rumor that they had lost the rights to the upcoming SIN CITY sequel. The IESB landed the scoop but TWC lawyer Bert Fields quickly put the kibosh on it through an official statement. Now "The Hollywood Reporter" is saying that, even though TWC are sticking by their "we ain't lost shit!" statement, the rights are indeed currently being shopped around. They're unsure of Robert Rodriguez' involvement but it's likely he's still attached as producer, at least. What exactly happened that resulted in TWC losing the film's rights or the producers exploring other options to get the film made? Well, just a hunch, but it may have something to do with The Weinstein's being evil, movie-hating gargoyles.

Extra Tidbit: According to the IMDB, "The bra that she wore in Sin City drew a winning bid of $1,025 in an eBay auction."

The original Sin City was perfect.. a sequel can't do it justice unless it's more of the same

its a sin...

R.R. made the original what it was, probably the best adaptation from the printed word to the screen, ever. A fantastic vision that looked literally like a comic book come to life. I sincerely hope he returns to helm the sequel, he has a brilliantly perfect take on the genre, do it right, and do it well.

Please, let him return, the original will be a timeless classic. A sequel demands the same respect given to the source material as the first one.

The sp.ed blu-ray just came out this

The sp.ed blu-ray just came out this week, and is a reference disc for showing off your home theatre. It rocks.
