Slade slams Twilight

David Slade When 30 DAYS OF NIGHT director David Slade accepted the job of directing the upcoming third installment in the TWILIGHT franchise, ECLIPSE, he likely saw it as an opportunity to bring to this thus far tame franchise a little bit of the terrifyingly bad ass he brought to 30 DAYS. Which is what Brendon over at “Slashfilm” caught him expressing in a radio show, albeit in a rather, let’s say, colorful way. He says:

…and so yesterday we were trying to find a movie to see and we’d seen all the good ones, you know, and there was nothing really coming out this weekend that we really fancied at all and having directed a vampire film and really gone for something completely different to the kind of romantic, you know, repressed hormone teen vampire movie we really weren’t interested in seeing Twilight but a lot of people said lets go so I wrote – “Twilight drunk? No, not even drunk. Twilight on acid? No, not even on acid? Twilight at gun point? Just shoot me.”

The “I wrote” part refers to what he wrote on his Twitter account, which has been deleted. What he should do is go on the radio and say something like “I still wouldn’t watch that prissy piece of shit. That’s why I wanted to direct this thing. To add some balls to this franchise!”
