I was bummed out when Amanda Seyfried was forced to drop out of the lead role in Zack Snyder's SUCKER PUNCH due to scheduling conflicts with her HBO series "Big Love." I'm super bummed today that SUCKER has lost two more members of its cast. Both Emma Stone and Evan Rachel Wood have dropped out of the film, both due to those nasty scheduling conflicts (which means something unknown must be coming up for Stone who recently wrapped ZOMBIELAND and has no other projects listed on IMDB) UPDATE - A few people have written in to remind me that Stone recently signed on to star in the high school retelling of "The Scarlet Letter" titled EASY A.

Snyder has moved quickly to replace his latest two casualties though and has signed Jamie Chung (right) and Jena Malone to star in the film. Chung will take over for Stone while Malone will step in for Wood. They join the previously cast Emily Browning (who was cast after Seyfried dropped out), Vanessa Hudgens and Abbie Cornish.

I'm not saying I'm not excited for SUCKER PUNCH anymore but the original cast certainly had me a little more juiced up. What do you think? For me, Seyfried, Stone and Wood packed a little more, excuse the pun, punch, than the current cast but I'll have to trust Snyder's judgment...

I loved Dawn Of The Dead but I'm done with Zack Snyder. 300 was meh, and Watchmen was pretty bad. 2 projects that could've really rocked.

Either way
The movie still sounds pretty good. Like Alice in wonderland meets kill bill. I dig. A lot.

Agreed, the original 3 packed more "punch", in a way that I was already excited for this film just because it was Snyder's follow-up to Watchmen, had an interesting premise, and had all those chicks, who as previously mentioned, have proven themselves as talented. But we'll see.

Maybe he should just take this as a sign and just move onto something that doesn't sound like a horny 12 year old rewriting Pan's Labyrinth....

Hmm
I'm neutral too. I like most of the cast but they should bring in Julianna Guill and Shiri Appleby.

I was mildly disappointed when Amanda Seyfried dropped out, but in my book that worked out for the best because I adore Emily Browning. I'm much more disapppointed to hear that Stone and (especially) Wood have dropped out as well. I'm a huge fan of Malone though and have been really disappointed that her career hasn't exactly taken off, so seeing her join this almost makes up for it. However,...

However, I'm really disappointed that Snyder cast Chung, with so many great young actresses out there it seems like he could've found someone better.

Someone Better:

- Olivia Thirlby

- Gemma Ward

- Sarah Roemer

- Danielle Panabaker

- Alice Greczyn

I like Jena Malone (a little surprised she wasn't already part of that cast, like Wood and Stone, girl's got class). Also like Browning, but Chung is a little too...I dunno, but she's like, aside from Vanessa Hudgens (who hasn't really had the opportunity to prove herself), Chung is the other one mostly known for her eye-candy looks. Whereas the other actresses have that, they also have...

I'm saying neutral for now, but I like Emily Browning in A Series of Unfortunate Events.
