Some cool Star Wars: Episode VII fan posters to offset the news that Steven Spielberg bows out of contention as director

Nov. 9, 2012by:

Despite it being a long shot to begin with, it looks like Steven Spielberg will not be directing STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. When asked by Access Hollywood whether he would be interested in the job, Spielberg said "No! No! It’s not my genre. It’s my best friend George’s genre.”

Spielberg will likely have his hands full with ROBOPOCALYPSE and other films he has in stages of development, but since he is so close with George Lucas, you can never rule him out for EPISODE VIII or IX.

Meanwhile, Forever Geek has compiled a nice selection of fan made STAR WARS: EPISODE VII posters. Some are a little rough around the edges while others are pure badassery. I highly doubt we would get the dream cast listed on the LEGACY OF THE SHADOWS poster, but I dig the casting of Hugo Weaving as Thrawn. That would be something to see.

Check them all out below.

Jedi Search

I know most fans want to see the Thrawn trilogy in some form on the big screen, but I personally think the Jedi Search trilogy would be a wiser choice. It's a story easier to have our aged heroes in, and it's a great way to introduce the Jedi mytho's to newer audiences while still doing something new. I know fans aresplit as to the quality of that arc, but I dig it and think that it would be good ground work for the new trilogy.

Can someone explain HOW THERE ARE MORE JEDI?!

I thought Luke and Leia were the last two Force users... All the Sith are destroyed and their kids have a good chance of being Good, not Evil... So what are they going up against? What kind of threat will be greater than an entire empire? Like Luke can't handle a few stragglers? Nobody is afraid of the fact that this will be another origins story, just like 1-3 and look how well those turned out. Hopefully they start with the main character in his 20s though.

Anthony Hopkins

I REALLLLLY want to see Anthony Hopkins as a sith or jedi in this. Ian McKellen too. With Jamie Bell and or Elijah Wood as the young roll.
Mila Kunis and Naiomi Harris as the females.
The funnest thing about Star Wars coming back, is thinking of how you would want it to be. All this is too fun!

I agree it's an awful poster, Harrison Ford looks like he's a burn victim. But at least it tried to do something other than just type Star Wars.

I love the first poster with the exception of Disney's being put over the title, i really hope they don't do that....it's not like it was "Disney's The Avengers".....

I love Disney but I agree. Keep the "Disney" off it.

The Legacy of the Shadows, Legacy of the Empire and Heir to the Empire posters at least tried to do something with the material, the rest is pretty weaksauce.
