Sony Pictures is hard at work developing their own little Marvel Universe, and one of their upcoming films has secured the talents of the screenwriters behind CAPTAIN MARVEL and CHAOS WALKING. As reported by THR, Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet have signed on to pen the script for SILVER & BLACK which will feature the characters of Silver Sable and Black Cat.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet has had a hand in crafting the scripts for CAPTAIN MARVEL and TOMB RAIDER, with Lindsey Beer having penned the upcoming CHAOS WALKING which stars Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley, as well as having been involved in writers rooms for several franchises including TRANSFORMERS, Legendary's GODZILLA/KONG MonsterVerse, and Quentin Tarantino's STAR TREK project. Gina Prince-Bythewood (THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES) will direct SILVER & BLACK, and has previously compared the project to both THELMA & LOUISE and MIDNIGHT RUN, saying that she wants to tell the story of "two damaged women who are at war with each other but need each other to survive." As for the characters themselves, Black Cat, also known as Felicia Hardy, is an acrobatic cat burglar who has had a "long and tangled romantic history with Spider-Man." As for Silver Sable, she's a mercenary who runs a company which hunts war criminals. Skilled in hand-to-hand combat as well as various martial arts, Silver Sable is an expert markswoman, swordswoman, and gymnast. Although her methods may sometimes bring her into conflict with other superheroes, she has also been an ally of Spider-Man on several occasions.

Before we get to SILVER & SABLE, the first installment of Sony's Marvel Universe will be VENOM, which stars Tom Hardy as the title character and will hit theaters on October 5, 2018.
