Sorkin on Facebook

If you’re like me, you’d rather rundown a razor blade into lemon juice before watching the Facebook movie aka THE SOCIAL NETWORK.

Even though I am a total hypocrite and have a Facebook, I just don’t see it as an acceptable story to bring to the bigscreen. Aaron Sorkin, who is the scriptwriter, knew it was something he immediately wanted to do, “”It’s the fastest I’ve ever said ‘yes’ to a project.” REALLY?! I wonder if Fincher felt the same way.

The idea came from Mark Zuckerberg’s intoxicated status reports about how much of a bitch some girl was on Facemash, which apparently was like Hot or Not. Originally Facebook was a program for Harvard goers to search for other students within the University. Then it was unleashed upon the masses and turned everyone into mush.

Sorkin talks about his rash decision on MakingOf, a site co-founded by Natalie Portman. The site basically gives movie lovers a behind the scenes look at the filmmaking process.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK is set to be released in 2010.
