Spike travels in time

Spike Lee has signed on to co-write and direct TIME TRAVELER an adaptation of the non-fiction book of the same name by Ronald Mallett. Lee said the book is a "fantastic story" and put his money where his mouth is by ponying up his own cash to buy the rights to the project. Mallett is one of the first African-Americans to earn a PhD in theoretical physics and his book lays out what he believes to be technical specifications for a working time machine. The doctor became obsessed with creating a working time machine since 10 years old when his father passed away. So is he a ingenious pioneer or a crackpot? Here's a graphic explaining how his time machine should work. Theoretically that would work but the problem seems to be generating the amount of energy needed to bust a whole in the space-time continuum. Spike has the impressive looking MIRACLE AT ST. ANNA coming later this year from Touchstone Pictures.

Extra Tidbit: Spike at one time was also developing a time travel film with Tom Cruise.

Jeez....

Well, if we are going to have fun with semantics, let's not forget that technically, everyone here is a time traveler who is traveling toward the future at a rate of 60 minutes per hour.

In the meantime, remember that when people say they are traveling "up north", they don't literally mean they will be lifting away from the Earth's gravitational pull.

Time isn't a real thing. It's not a destination. It's an idea. Something we use to help us communicate. Yesterday is not place you can go. It's not something that can be interacted with.

I don't see how this guy's graphic gets anyone any closer to traveling to a destination that not only doesn't exist, but isn't even a destination.

It's like trying to touch blue. Blue isn't a thing. It's a property of a thing. A way to describe how light interacts with a thing, but it is not a

This idea that "time" is constantly branching off in to new dimensions is just silly.

Like I said, it makes for a good story, but this idea of "scientists" creating theories to support a completely flawed and ridiculous concept just drives me nuts.

1.21 jiggawatts!

There's at least two documentaries I've seen about this guy. Ok so 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 may be just measurements of time just like an inch, foot, yard but time itself is a very real thing. Travel through time itself is theoretically possible. Einstein may have thought that humans stepping into different times may have been infeasible, he proved on paper that the idea was possible. This guy's "time machine" is the most realistic design to actually "manipulating time" ever. Who you gonna believe,

movie looks good. Spike is on a roll.

Cupajoe and Star-trak need a time machine back to the 60's where their jokes might have been funny.

This sounds like an interesting movie.

Spike was probably thinkin man if I had a time machine I would make all them cracka's PAY.

first african american with PhD, i thought most black people have PhD, hahaha. Yeah i totally agreed with x1031x - Times doesn't exist. So does Albert Einstein. Now who are you gonna believe a guy with weird hair-do or a guy with PhD...hahaha.

Totally Idiocracy.

Ok...

Time is pretend. It's just a method of measurement. It doesn't exist.

There is no such thing as time-travel and there never will be. String theory is a joke.

Time-travel movies are always good fun, though. Even if there's no real science to back them up.
