It looks like THE SPIRIT is going to have his heroics complicated by booty and boobs. Poor guy.
Luscious Latino Eva Mendes has joined Frank Miller's comic book crimefighter flick, providing her impressive posterior to fill out the other end of the spectrum from healthy-chested co-star Scarlett Johansson. That pair of curvaceous femme fatales should provide sufficient distraction for our punishment-absorbing square-jawed hero, played by Gabriel Macht (THE RECRUIT).
Based on the creation of comic pioneer Will Eisner, the crime-noir story follows a masked vigilante dedicated to busting the chops of the city's nefarious underbelly. Sam Jackson offers the film's villainy as the nemesis known as The Octopus (metal tentacles not included). Miller, who worked behind the camera on SIN CITY, makes his solo directing debut on the Lionsgate film.Source: Variety
Extra Tidbit: Mendes has the dubious honor of having appeared in several horror movies: sequels to CHILDREN OF THE CORN and URBAN LEGEND, and a Steven Seagal movie.
