Spike Lee in talks to direct Justin Timberlake in biopic Spinning Gold

That Justin Timberlake is so hot right now!

Sony is in early talks with a certain director you either love or hate for the biopic SPINNING GOLD. It was announced that Timberlake had the lead back in May.

Spike Lee is being courted to helm the flick about Neil Bogart and the rise of disco. The script was written by Bogart’s son, Timothy Scott Bogart. Here’s a little more background:

“A poor kid from Brooklyn, Bogart went on to define the pop music culture of his time. In his day, Bogart, who died at the age of 39 in 1982, was credited with discovering and launching the careers of a generation of superstars, including Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers, Gladys Knight, KISS, Parliament, Donna Summer and the Village People. Bogart was founder of Casablanca Records.”

I’m still wondering how that whole OLDBOY remake thing is going to work out. I have yet to gain any excitement from it. I like the cast but that doesn’t mean we get a guaranteed solid flick. That aside, I have come to like Timberlake. Still not so sure what I think about his acting though he does have good comedic timing as shown on SNL. Surprised they didn’t want to give him the Elton John role.
