Spoilers: Does this leaked script excerpt reveal a character's death in X-Men: DOFP?

01.06.2014

ThinkMcflyThink (via CBM) has a script excerpt that looks like it is from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, and it might contain a huge spoiler about one of the characters. Without revealing too much, it involves a character possibly dying during a battle with a Sentinel. Although the excerpt doesn't specifically say the character dies, I wouldn't be surprised if the person is killed off in Bryan Singer's upcoming film. To learn more, scroll past the spoiler buffer below.

So, this is the leaked script excerpt from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST:

Like I said above, the excerpt doesn't actually say, "Colossus dies," or anything, but it does appear that he is on the losing end of a fight with a Sentinel. Now, maybe the next line has a different mutant saving him, and there's a chance that this scene doesn't end up in the final movie; who knows. But I wouldn't be shocked if Colossus does die in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, and he could always come back. Since the new movie involves time travel and Colossus is clearly fighting the Sentinel in the future, if the 1970's X-Men manage to stop the event in their time period that helped create the dystopian future, it would also erase Colossus' death. However, unless more of the script is leaked, we aren't going to know if this is true or not until the movie hits theaters.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST starring Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Omar Sy, and Peter Dinklage will be released on May 23rd, 2014.

Be interesting to see just how "transform"-y the Sentinels are. I'm far from an X-Men expert, but Sentinels are usually just massive humanoid robots, aren't they?

So the steel covered mutant that can probably survive such a blow from a Sentinel gets hit and the conclusion is that he dies? holy shit, man.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone dies in the future timeline. It makes saving the future more dramatic. I remember watching a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon where they did a story like this, and killed off all of the turtles. It was pretty damn good episode, and surprisingly dark, but of course they had to fix the past to prevent this horrible future.

You guys do realize what the premise of the comic is, right?

Spoiler alert for anyone who cares:

In the comic every X-Men character except for a small handful (Wolverine, Shadowcat, Colossus, Storm, Phoenix, Franklin Richards and Magneto) has either been captured by the sentinels or killed, and even some of that final group ends up dying including Colossus. That's the whole point of going back in time, to prevent the dystopian future and everyone from dying. So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he and a bunch of others do die in the film.

If they are true to the original story pretty much every X-men is alread dead or dies in the future timeline. Guess thatīs the point of having so many characters in this part.

As Colossus falls,

Storm swoops in and grabs him. There he is saved. As he falls, someone grabs him or saves him. Big whoop.

Umm, actually Colossus has died at least twice in the comics and Wolverine has died several times.

I put down this is a bad idea, but it has nothing to do with Colussus and this movie, it's ab this headline and the story. I realize it's not that big of a deal, but I'd still feel a little bit of shame if I wrote this. Like if they made a movie ab online movie "journalism," you would be Ron Burgandy Jesse, which may sound funny or lame, but is actually a huge insult from me. However, to your "credit," there's a cpl ppl on here that are worse.

Guys (and gals), I've been on this site for

Guys (and gals), I've been on this site for prolly over ten years now I think. There's still some things respectable ab it, no doubt, but it's generally terrible journalism. Now I find myself writing more remarks about how terrible the writing is than the "content." I don't want to be that guy, and it's obvious the employees of this sight (notice the word I'm NOT using) aren't getting any better or even trying to seems. There are a few good writers and amazing articles that appear frequently - about everything is respectable but the "VS" articles. I'm still a huge movie nerd, and want the news, but this site epically fails on how to run news articles (is there no fucking editor? I realize print news is changing - or gone maybe - but online still requires a journalism education) again and again. As I don't want to continue to write comments like these, I realize it's time for me to part ways. But, suggestions on where to go? And please don't say AICN or Latino Review (I'm highly prejudiced against fat red heads and Mexicans).

A joke, but seriously, suggestions?

sorry to hear this bothers you so much. i dont disagree with you, just that you feel you need to leave. i used to frequent comingsoon.net but the format here is much better and personal. cominsoon is more of an information dump and they are usually only an hour or so behind joblo with breaking news. good luck

I do enjoy, for the most part, the talk backs and the opinion. The casting ideas and everything. If you notice, I never use to comment on anything, and now I leave a comment every 2-3 days at least, but I have seen myself more and more making comments like the ones above than who the rock should or shouldn't be playing. I actually really enjoy 80% of the feedbacks, but as I said, I don't want to just continually bitch ab bad writing. I'm never gonna win a Pulitzer, and I'm not a journalist,

I actually really enjoy 80% of the feedbacks, but as I said, I don't want to just continually bitch ab bad writing. I'm never gonna win a Pulitzer, and I'm not a journalist, but I have written for papers from Jr. High and up, taking about 2 years of journalism classes in college as I considered it as a profession, and have written re-appearing articles in my college newspapers and in my city paper. I no longer do that, but I do consider myself a professional 100% in my current job and in general, and I just see no excuse for anything lacking. I'm not saying these ppl should be murdered or anything crazy, but if you can't do a job efficiently (after the learning period of course), you shouldn't be doing it. And it's obviously not just Jesse's inability to write well, it's the entire structure of joblo that's at fault. There's absolutely NO excuse for spelling errors when you are publishing things that you type. It's like they don't even reread it once. I could be wrong, but I consider this different than tweets or a fbook status or even comments, I consider it journalism. There's a lot worse writers than Jesse, but ultimately all this fall on their editor to not only check grammar and spelling, but to also say this isn't news, or your opinion is in the heading when it shouldn't be. And more so, it's on who is hiring these people and keeping them hired. Every level should take pride in their job, because obviously they have a passion for this stuff, right? And a significant portion obviously does not, and as someone who knows how to write, this almost comes off insulting to me. I know I shouldn't let it spoil my fun about one of my passions, but it does. And let's face it, writing journalism articles like the ones above is not hard WHATSOEVER. It should be a breeze. Am I wrong? I mean, I can STILL remember an article I wrote my freshman year for our college paper reviewing snoop dogg's new album The Hard Way with Nate Dawg and Warren G that I'm completely embarrassed of 9-10 years after the fact. And you can still find it on the internet!!! : ( )

Why are you criticizing people on their writing when you're too lazy to spell the words "about, couple, people and probably"? You don't like the writing get off the site. I've been here since 2000 and watched this site grow when Berge Garabedian was still doing reviews...but who cares??? That means nothing and I'm not gonna sit here and gripe about it. And what was with that comment at the very end you bigot?

I wouldn't say this is actually worthy news, since it doesn't say if he dies or not. But considering more than half the X-Men are captured or dead, I would assume we'll see a few casualties in the future to protect Wolverine as his mind is in the past.

They didn't develop his character in the last two movies anyway.

I really dont understand internet these latest years. Its like they arent able to avoid posting this type of stuff, and instead put ALL the details they read so all the readers end knowing about it MONTHS before the actual movie.
The sad thing is that at the end of the day, all the info the sites post ends ruining a bit the movie experience.
But obviously, not many people has thought about this or wont ever agree.

I'd say to think that Colossus dies from that little excerpt is stretching it a lot. He just got hit by one Sentinel, I'm sure he can take more hits then that.

I was pissed they didn't use him enough in X2. I hope he is used more and they don't kill him off. He is bad ass and needs to be in more than just this movie.
