Stanley Tucci cast as Dr. Abraham Erskine in Captain America: The First Avenger

Great news on the CAPTAIN AMERICA front!

It's been confirmed that Stanley Tucci will play Dr. Abraham Erskine.

A press release from Marvel Studios only gave a brief synopsis of the character:

"In the early comics, Dr. Erskine was a German scientist behind Project Rebirth, the secret experiment that created the Super Soldier known as Captain America."

Dr. Erskine created the Super-Solider serum that no one was ever able to replicate. He injected Steve Rogers with the serum that turned him from a scrawny fine arts student to a lean mean fighting machine. AMERICA F*CK YEAH!

Tucci joins Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Hugo Weaving, and Hayley Atwell in the film directed by Joe Johnston.

What a great addition to the cast! You guys think so as well?

Extra Tidbit: Tucci was a roommate to Ving Rhames during their time together at SUNY Purchase. Rhames, who's real name is Irving, credits him for first calling him Ving.
