Last Updated on August 2, 2021

As the effects of Hurricane Harvey are still being felt in Texas – with a death toll of at least 70 and countless people displaced and homeless – and with Hurricane Irma heading for Florida, Cuba and more, millions will need our help in order to make it through these terrible ordeals. Because of this, tons of celebrities and corporate figures will be contributing to Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief to raise money for those who have been affected by the storms.

The one-hour telethon is set to air this Tuesday, September 12, at 8:00 pm EST and will then re-air at the same time PST. The special will air on several networks, including BC, Bravo, CBS, CMT, E!, FOX, HBO, MTV, MTV2, MTV Live, MTV Classic NBC and Oxygen, and will also stream live on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, AOL, Huffington Post and Yahoo.

Those who tune in to the telethon will see “appearances, performances, taped tributes and messages” from tons of celebrities including, Anthony Anderson, Bun B, J Balvin, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Connie Britton, George Clooney, Andy Cohen, Stephen Colbert, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Terry Crews, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, Robert De Niro, Drake, Hilary Duff, Jourdan Dunn, Jimmy Fallon, Jamie Foxx, Richard Gere, Tom Hanks, Marcia Gay Harden, Faith Hill, Kate Hudson, Dwayne Johnson, Joe Jonas, Catherine Zeta -Jones, Nicole Kidman, Karlie Kloss, , Matt Lauer, Jay Leno, Zion & Lennox, Jared Leto, Eva Longoria, Rob Lowe, Matthew McConaughey, Tim McGraw, Tracy Morgan, Norah O’Donnell, Gerardo Ortiz, Chris Paul, Tyler Perry, Dennis Quaid, Questlove, Jeremy Renner, Julia Roberts, Kelly Rowland, Adam Sandler, Ryan Seacrest, Blake Shelton, David Spade, Gwen Stefani, Michael Strahan, George Strait, Barbra Streisand, Sofia Vergara, Kerry Washington, Chandra Wilson, Oprah Winfrey, Rita Wilson and Reese Witherspoon.

Verizon has already donated $2.5 million to Hand in Hand and is orchestrating the 2,000+ call center volunteers that will be placed around the nation who will help make the telethon a reality. As well, the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation has donated $5 million to Hand in Hand, and have started the Rebuild Texas Fund in the wake of Harvey.

I’m sure many of our loyal readers are down in Texas and Florida, and we here at JoBlo send our thoughts and hope you all stay safe, especially those in Florida where Irma is expected to hit this weekend. Along with Hand in Hand there are tons of places where you can donate to help the victims of Harvey, including the Red Cross (link here), and even the smallest donation can make a difference.
