Wired Magazine has a cool feature on the making of the monster(s) in the upcoming STAR TREK movie. Neville Page gives you a glimpse into his process, with a series of progressive artwork. Page, you might recall developed the creature for CLOVERFIELD, and also various creatures for James Cameron's AVATAR. Check it out HERE.

I have all the artistic capabilities of a beached sea bass, so all of this impresses the hell out of me. Much like those guys who have a chick levitate and then run the hoop along her body to show there's nothing holding her there. How do they do that??

Definitely a Grabboid twin, I didnt know they faced a monster in the new Star Trek.

I think instead of him trying to reinvent the Cloverfield monster he should have just started on the sequel already.

Neville Page
so it was his design. While I was watching the film I thought that looks like it was designed by the cloverfield guy. To be honest though the monster doesn't really look like it belongs on that planet and while the scene is entertaining it's something you have seen again and again in sci-fi/fantasy films.

Clearly a talented bloke.
Don't know if he's quite in the same league as Ralph McQuarrie or Syd Mead, but he's good. Very good.
