Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will feature new music from John Williams

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, John Williams is about to grace Disney Parks with one of his very own magical scores. In honor of the new theme park land dedicated to STAR WARS that's opening in 2019 in Anaheim (and fall 2019 in Orlando), legendary composer John Williams has conjured up a brand new score, a sample of which you can listen to right now via the video below.

Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products confirmed the new score today at the fan gathering Destination D in Orlando, citing the music as the main theme for STAR WARS: GALAXY'S EDGE. The theme is perfromed by the London Symphony Orchestra, recorded at Abbey Road Studios, and conducted by Williams' longtime friend and associate William Ross. Williams is currently busy recording even more breathtaking music for the parks, while any spare time he manages to find is spent working on director J.J. Abrams' EPISODE IX, due to hit theaters next December.

There's also a sneak peak available for one of of GALAXY EDGE's first rides below, which will be opening up at the Black Spire on the planet Baatu, the name of GALAXY EDGE's trading post. Check out the teaser trailer for Milliennium Falcon: Smugglers Run here.

Rise of the Resistance is the name of the second ride, and it will put riders in the middle of an epic battle between the First Order and the X-Wing Dog Fighters of the Resistance.

Finally, we have the first look at the concept art for Hondo Ohnaka from THE CLONE WARS and STAR WARS REBELS, who will also be a character in STAR WARS: GALAXY'S EDGE.
