OK so the trailer (or at least a Japanese version) for STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI is online. And compared to the pics from the film we saw a while back, there's a vast improvement. I don't think anyone here is under the delusion that STREET FIGHTER is SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE but perhaps we could have an enjoyable film here (at least one infinitely more enjoyable than DRAGONBALL)? What I really like about this trailer actually is the Japanese voiceover. It just works. If Fox really wanted to gamble, they could just release the US trailer with a Japanese voiceover. What do you really need to know about the film that a voiceover could tell you? That's just me though. Check it out below and let me know what you think.

A hero's journey with Ryu (and Ken), that is what a Street Fighter movie should be. Not Guile, not Chun-Li, not whoever else they want to spin a story around. Why this keeps being overlooked, I will never understand.

Looks like one of those sci-fi tv shows, is this a spin-off or a new Street Fighter franchise with Chu-Li as the lead character? they just should have remade the original Street Fighter film with a whole new cast of characters and storylines, this film looks like a dud, I bet Dragon Ball will be better.

For crying out loud...
They really need to go watch the animated SF2 movie to grasp the idea of what a Street Fighter film should be. I did have a slight hope for this one but I have to admit, it just fizzled away.

Honestly, who the hell played Street Fighter wanting to see Chun-li kick ass? Everyone chose Ryu and Ken for a reason. Too much mystical horse-crap, which seems to be a common theme in any Japanese movie. Its about people who street fight...nothing even remotely mystical about that, why couldn't they just have her taught martial arts? And the last thing that Kristen Kreuk is infamous for, is...

Wow, that just looks aweful. I actually liked the JCVD version of Street Fighter as a kid, though I don't know if I'd enjoy it now. But, even with some actors I like, this just looks like a crappy movie.

i could've sworn this movie was a [link] it really has that vibe to it. what's-her-face that plays chun li, hasn't really been in much other than smallvile. i'm guessing she's still on that show...haven't really watched it in a while.

but yeah...i'm guessing like $8 million at the box office.

The visual effects are crap. The jump out of the greenscreen explosion has me flashing back to Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Aside from the inclusion of Vega it doesn't feel like Street Fighter, especially since we have M. Bison in a business suit and not his signature outfit.



Still, it looks a lot better than the first Street Fighter movie.

It can't be worse than the first live action movie. But it seems to be pretty damn close.



I just can't believe that even to this day, there are bad films of this caliber. Some filmmakers are too stupid to be alive.
