Stylish new trailer for Killing Them Softly with Brad Pitt, Ray Liotta, and Richard Jenkins

Brad Pitt's next outing, KILLING THEM SOFTLY, has had a few delays and a title change (formerly COGAN'S TRADE), but mostly positive reviews and a slick marketing campaign.  Today, we have a new trailer for the film, which reteams Pitt with Andrew Dominik, the director of THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD.  Based on the novel by George V. Higgins, the story follows a mob enforcer (Pitt) who is investigating a poker game robbery.  Sounds pretty thin, but you throw in an intricately woven, metaphor-laden story with some stylish brutality and this could very well be this year's DRIVE.  Pitt is joined by veteran actors Ray Liotta, Richard Jenkins, Sam Shepard, and James Gandolfini.

Fly Coach:

I prefer the "Johnny Cash" trailer myself, but this is still pretty cool.  I'm actually more excited for this than many other films coming out this season as it's not an easy one to peg.  I'm genuinely interested to see this on the big screen as Dominik (who also did CHOPPER with Eric Bana) has got a unique visionary style and Pitt is in top form at this stage of his career.  All in all, I'm thinking this could be a sleeper hit.

KILLING THEM SOFTLY is out November 30, 2012.

Extra Tidbit: Do you think this will do well at the box office or squeak by? I honestly think it will barely get noticed, yet be a great film. Another tragic box office loss? Ask your non-movie geek friends if they've even heard of it.

Where is this not already released? In was a limited release in Oct

I don't think it's going wide. It should. I'd rather watch that trailer over and over for 2 hours than watch 5 mins of that kiddie vampire thing that's raking in cash from dumbshits around the world.

Warning guys I've already seen it.

It came out in the Netherlands about a month ago. The good news first. It is indeed a very good film. The bad news though. It was very obviously heavily cut. The film was only about 90 minutes long and it was very apparent that a lot of scenes ended up on the cutting room floor. Characters disappear for long stretches, plot points are left dangling, other plot points come seemingly out of nowhere. Every scene that was there was very good, but I think the director's cut could potentially be a

Still not out?

Wow usually it's the rest of the world waiting on a film long since being released in the US. The opposite here I guess as I saw this here in the UK a couple months back. Really enjoyed it, with Brad being as cool as ever. Great work by the entire cast actually. I'd recommend it.

Not a trailer

It's a 90 second TV/Internet spot. But still quite cool.

This is the flick I'm looking forward to most right now. I think it will be great, but unfortunately won't do too well at the box office.

I can't see the title of this movie without unfortunately being reminded of the Roberta Flack song. Just like I can't think of "Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World" without being reminded of Chris Cornell. I hate that shit. It might somehow be the best movie in the world but I'm going to wait until it hits video.
