Super Troopers 2 meow has an appropriate and official release date!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Meow fans of SUPER TROOPERS can really start freaking out (man), because the Broken Lizard comedy team and Fox Searchlight have set an official date for the release of SUPER TROOPERS 2!

That's right, you law-abiding citizens! So grab yourself an order Dimpus burgers, your most delicious bag of sweet cheebah, and a bulletproof cup for when the madcap officers storm into theaters beginning on April 20th, 2018. Yes, the movie is opening on 4/20, you're welcome.

While participating in an interview with Vermont's Seven Days (via Uproxx), Steve Lemme, who plays MacIntyre “Mac” Womack, announced the release date. “There is [a release date], but I can’t tell you what it is,” he told Seven Days. “Here’s what I can tell you: It’s springtime and there’s a very obvious date, which happens to fall on a Friday this year.” Oh Steve Lemme, you clever, clever bastard.

While Lemme was reluctant to reveal much else about the upcoming comedy sequel, he did share that, in the movie, the officers "all have cellphones in this movie. But otherwise, it seems like time has stood still for these state troopers. Which is good, because we didn’t really want to answer the question of where these guys have been for the last 15 years — although we do answer it."

In addition to Steve Lemme's interview, the creators of SUPER TROOPERS also posted the new film date via their official Twitter account:
