Surrogates BTS clip

SURROGATES final poster

SURROGATES is one of those movies I’m on the fence about; it looks cool, it’s got Bruce and the jaw-dropping Rosamund Pike, and the budget is summer-worthy. Yet it comes from Jonathan Mostow whose 3rd Terminator film I can’t say I flipped for, and the release is near the end of September instead of smack dab Summer. What does that say about the studios faith in their movie?

At least Disney is “helping” us with some inside-look clips; a first one appeared online directly on their site earlier this month, while a second popped up this week on IGN. It still looks cool, Rosamund Pike still looks mighty fine, but it still comes out September 21.

That new featurette is down there below, the trailer is right here on JoBlo, and the plot consists in:

People are living their lives remotely from the safety of their own homes via robotic surrogates—sexy, physically perfect mechanical representations of themselves. It’s an ideal world where crime, pain, fear and consequences don’t exist. When the first murder in years jolts this utopia, FBI agent Greer (Willis) discovers a vast conspiracy behind the surrogate phenomenon and must abandon his own surrogate, risking his life to unravel the mystery.
