SyFy’s Z Nation regenerates for a third season

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The SyFy channel has had a big week. After announcing their first ever theatrical film banner, they've proclaimed the renewal of their zombie series Z Nation, which is currently in its second season and recently featured surprisingly big guest star George R. R. Martin.

15 new episodes are set to drop in 2016, to the delight of someone, I'm sure. Z Nation's demographic must not coincide with any of the people I've ever met, but there's enough enthusiasts out there to give the show a solid 1.5 million viewers each week. If you have a craving to check out the zombie show that isn't The Walking Dead, you can check it out on SyFy on Fridays at 10PM.

From The Asylum, the producers of Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One, Z Nation starts three years after the zombie virus has gutted the country. A team of everyday heroes must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood. Although the antibodies he carries are the world’s last, best hope for a vaccine, he hides a dark secret that threatens them all. With humankind’s survival at stake, the ragtag band embarks on a journey of survival across three thousand miles of rusted-out post-apocalyptic America.

Z Nation stars Harold Perrineau, Tom Everett Scott, DJ Qualls, Michael Welch, Kellita Smith, Anastasia Baranova, Russell Hodgkinson, and Keith Allan.
