Take a look at Batman v Superman before and after visual FX

04.08.2016

Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice Wonder Woman Ben Affleck Gal Gadot Henry Cavill

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE may not have won over most audiences, but the film had it's moments and a large part of that was due to some mighty impressive visual FX. No, I'm not referring to Doomsday, but rather the city built for the film, as well as the bulk of the action sequences. Think you know what was VFX and what wasn't? It's time to see the real deal!

In a recent article over at Art of VFX, VFX supervisor Guillaume Rocheron talked a bit about the process and what it was like to create VFX for the IMAX ratio. You can check out the interview here, but I've included pictures from the film so you can get a glimpse of how things looked before the computer geniuses stepped in. Enjoy!

With the common teaser at the end of each comic movie now. I have a huge appreciation when the credits roll, seeing all the work that goes on behind the camera.

I used to work in visual effects so I understand the amount of work and long hours that goes into these shots. Hopefully the VFX world will soon get the unions they need in order to support them more. How ever VFX alone does not get a pass on being a great movie. Shot by shot, yeh amazing pieces of art. But when you have a film which has been divisive much like Man Of Steel. Then DC has a big problem.

Sad really. all that work, all that phenomenal special effects get wasted on on people that are too archaic to appreciate anything new. I enjoyed the movie, i enjoyed a Batman that is old and tired of the shit he has been through, i enjoyed seeing a Superman feed up with other peoples opinions. Keep making your movies Snyder. If i wanted to watch a movie that mirrors the comics I've been reading the last 30 years, ill go back and read my comic book collection. Give me a new story and always

Your comment is way off base. Lots of people liked Batman, you aren't alone there. In fact, B v S did manage to really heighten anticipation for Affleck's solo run as the Dark Knight. To say that Snyder is getting flack for doing something different than the comics is insane, he basically just took 3 different classic graphic novels and crammed them together in a way that just doesn't work. This created an incoherent mess of a movie, that just turned out kinda silly. This is why people don't

Dead-on correct. Very well done movie that sets out to do something different: tell a thoughtful, intense, dramatic story rather than be a jokey popcorn flick. It's a shame that a lot of people don't appreciate that.

I actually don't mind the CG batsuit. It looks fine. I, however, am disappointed that it looks like Ben Affleck wasn't the one doing the motion capture. Why wouldn't he?

Everything's green. Then everything's animated. Yawn. This movie was basically 80% a cartoon.

I love this type of behind the scenes stuff. Especially on a film like this on a grand scale.

Justice League starts shooting next week, right? DC and WB have mounds of data at this point of BVS's shortcomings. Why not shoot some additional/ gap filling scenes for the BVS Ultimate Cut, take a hard long look at how the thing was pieced together, re-structure and blow everyone away for the bluray release in July. Suicide Squad then hits it out of the park in August, and now we're cooking. I truly believe there is an incredible fucking movie in there somewhere...
