Take a look at the villains of The Lone Ranger in these character posters featuring Tom Wilkinson and William Fichtner

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

So far, we’ve had plenty of footage and images of the titular star and his compadre for THE LONE RANGER, with stars Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as THE LONE RANGER front and center with the marketing push. However, there’s been little-to-nothing in terms fo the film’s villains. Until now.

Today, we have our first look at two character posters featuring Tom Wilkinson as Latham Cole and William Fichtner as Butch Cavendish, the primary baddies for the western throwback. Both actors have a great level of charm and intensity that fit this genre well. Fichtner shows up everywhere (THE DARK KNIGHT, ARMAGEDDON, Call of Duty, Entourage, etc.) and Wilkinson is a reliable chap that always turns in a garden variety of performances, be it as a good guy (THE LAST KISS), bad guy (BATMAN BEGINS), nazi (VALKYRIE), crazy guy (MICHAEL CLAYTON), crossdresser (NORMAL), priest (THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE), secret agent (THE DEBT), or dead secret agent (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL).

Take a look:

As I’ve stated before, THE LONE RANGER has flown low on my radar, but every time it pops back up I get a little bit more excited for it. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s not going to revolutionize summer blockbusters, but in Jerry Bruckheimer/Gore Verbinski/Johnny Depp I trust to deliver a good show, even if it’s bloated, silly, and over-the-top. I’m not expecting UNFORGIVEN here.

THE LONE RANGER rides off into the sunset on July 3, 2013.
