With TAKERS, I'm debating the philosophy of what it means to have an "all-star" cast. Is it simply a long list of names you recognize, or do they have to be actors that are actually you know, good? It's a matter of taste which way you classify TAKERS, which stars Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, Idris Elba, Jay Hernandez, Michael Ealy, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Chris Brown and Hayden Christensen.
The movie would seem to be more or less a remake of HEAT, albeit with significantly more rappers and former Sith lords involved. I can’t really imagine an alternate universe in which this cast and this plot could make for a good movie, but it is awfully hard to say no to a classic slow-motion-walking-away-from-an-exploding-helicopter scene. That one never gets old.
|Extra Tidbit:||I will see this so long as there is at least one Chris Brown/T.I. duet in it.|
