Strike Back below!
by: Paul Tassi Dec. 29, 2009

There seems to be a trend lately in minimalist art for entertainment purposes. I’ve seen movie posters, TV shows and video games, all reduced down to a few select shapes or images, but this new batch of Tarantino-themed movie images from artist Ibraheem Youssef (via Slashfilm) are some of the best I’ve seen yet.

He has designs for KILL BILL 1&2, RESEVOIR DOGS and PULP FICTION. Unfortunately no love for INGLOURIOUS yet. What would that one be? Just a blank face with a red swastika on it?

Check out the excellent posters below:

Extra Tidbit: If you haven't sent me anything for Christmas yet, a wall-size print of one of these will do nicely, thank you.

Thanks for sharing my artwork over here :)

And yes, Inglorious Basterds is in the works, I was sketching a couple idea's for it a couple days ago, it will be awesome. As well as Jackie Brown and Deathproof.

Also, these 4 pieces are now available as limited edition prints/posters at

This guy's stuff is really good. I saw his poster for Die Hard a couple of weeks ago and thought it was great (a pair of empty shoes with loads of shards of glass in front of them).

Jackie Brown = 2 Billingsley Shopping Bags
I like the Kill Bill ones best. A Yellow dot surrounded by 88 (well not really 88) Black circles. Five bloody steps for five revenge victims.

Admittedly though, its the Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs posters I'd most like to have framed and hanging on my wall.

Am I missing something?
I....I'm not....I'm not seeing why I should be turning inside-out over these. Too many aspects of Tarantino's work aren't minimalist enough. These don't work in my humble opinion.

These are great. I think it would be a genius marketing campaign if a high-profile movie like Kill Bill did something like this. A poster that doesn't really make sense until the movie is seen. Awesome.
