Tarantino’s plans

As we heard the other day, Quentin Tarantino is planning to turn The Bride’s revenge story into a trilogy with a third KILL BILL. But (as he mentioned way back when promoting vol. 1 & 2) he doesn’t intend to revisit it until a decade later… meaning 2014. So he’s got a few years to fill.

In the meantime, the filmmaker who is notorious for talking about making films more than actively making them says he’s “wide open” to his next project. But he’s apparently considering a “re-imagining” of another genre, like a Western or a “Pretty Boy Floyd” type gangster movie.

Tarantino has long been infatuated with spaghetti Westerns — he was even once rumored to be secretly filming an adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s western novel ‘Forty Lashes Less One’. (He wasn’t.)

He has also made recent comments that he could conceivably fabricate more missions for the Basterds. I’d actually love to see him do more historical revisionism with different groups of Basterds in other wars, and see how they handle the Redcoats, the Kaiser or the Viet Cong.
