TDK for SNES

01.14.2009
So me, Alan, Tyler and Nicky D finally saved enough money to get the brand new THE DARK KNIGHT video game for my Super Nintendo Entertainment System!! Alan brought the Cheetohs, Tyler the vanilla wafers and Nicky D of course took care of the flavoured sodas duh!

We played for hours until my mom called us upstairs for Sloppy Joes, and we couldn't stop talking about the amazing gameplay all throughout dinner. It was too funny!

We played obsessively into the night and my girlfriend broke up with me because I never call her anymore. Come to think of it I'm depressed and I wish I had never bought the game in the first place. Check out the cut scenes though....pretty rad.

Extra Tidbit: If it doesn't win best picture of the year, it better win best game.....

This was decent, but I expected some game footage. I mean, I appreciate what they did here, but it wouldn't really have been all that difficult to get those promo shots and photoshop 'em to make them look like those old 8-bit or 16-bit (whichever) pictures from back in the day.

I'm not saying they didn't do a good job with recreating a cut scene, but I am saying that this wasn't really enough to get all excited over... and write up an article for it... not to me, anyway.

My childhood

In my boxes of video games I've hoarded I can tell that I have Batman for NES, SNES, GameBoy, and for DOS (that's a PC preWindows for you youngins). Sunsoft allowed me to kick some butt as the Bats. I think I also have some Batman Returns games as well.

dask

I see what you mean, but when I saw this fake TDK game, I thought of a pirated NES game based off of the movie Titanic. So it still looks more NES than SNES. [link] nHR aQ08

SNES

It may say NES but if any of you had ever played an NES you'd know that this video looks like a SNES game (and even still, one that'd pushing the console to its limits).

And they HAVE put out "retro" style games that have been big hits, namely Mega Man 9...which is the cleanest an 8-Bit game will ever look. Compare screenshots to this video and you'll see why TDK would be for the SNES.

vagino

Please, go away. I thought you didn't like The Dark Knight? Why are you reading articles about it?

BTW, Barna, read the Youtube description.

Very neat--but it does say in the YouTube link that it's supposed to be 8-bit original NES and not Super. 8-bit difference: just thought I'd point that out.

They could probably put out such a retro game for download on X-Box live or PS3 store and it would be a massive seller.

Sweet!!!

First of all, ginopags, it's THAN not THEN.....no wonder you didn't like the movie, you're an idiot! Secondly, I wish I could play this game RIGHT NOW.....I'm sure there's no actual gameplay, but it still made me wish there was. Good job, whoever put that together.

Yeah, they did a very good job of making the intro and title screen look authentic. Although I agree that I was disappointed to nto see any actual gameplay (although to be fair they probably would have just ripped off footage from one of the actual SNES Batman games and most of us wouldn't have been able to tell the difference).
