Teaser debuts for Horror Icon doc about Michael Myers actor Tony Moran

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Rob Zombie showed the face of Michael Myers quite a bit in the HALLOWEEN movies he directed, but before that the killer had been doing a great job at keeping his face hidden from the audience, being so successful at it in the sequels that a lot of viewers even seemed to forget that he is briefly unmasked during the climax of the original HALLOWEEN. In that moment, the face of Michael Myers is the face of actor Tony Moran.

More than thirty-five years after Moran had a part in bringing one of horror's greatest icons to the screen, Insomniac Productions and Lock It Down Productions are catching up to him with the documentary HORROR ICON: INSIDE MICHAEL'S MASK WITH TONY MORAN

Co-directors David Langill and Jordan Pacheco were given unprecedented access to Moran's life, from his landmark appearance on the big screen in 1978 to his recent return with convention appearances and indie horror films.

The film features appearances by Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), Dee Wallace (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial), P.J. Soles (Halloween), Andrew Bryniarski (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Debbie Rochon (Tromeo and Juliet), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Jonathan Tiersten (Sleepaway Camp), John Dugan (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), Timothy Patrick Quill (Army of Darkness) and more.

The initial plan was to have HORROR ICON out this month, but the filmmakers have decided to push the release back to October of 2016 so they can take their time making sure the documentary is as good as possible.

In the meantime, to give fans an idea of the story they're telling with the documentary, Insomniac and Lock It Down have released a teaser for the film that can be viewed right here:
