Teaser for the Evil Dead remake trailer features Comic Con reactions and words from Bruce Campbell

Oct. 23, 2012by: Paul Shirey

The official Facebook page for the EVIL DEAD remake has posted a teaser for the release of tomorrow's first red-band trailer for the film, featuring video from the New York Comic Con panel with director Fede Alvarez, Bruce Campbell, and Jane Levy, each offering up a few soundbites to hype the film. It also shows audience reaction and a few snippets from the trailer shown at NYCC.

Take a peek:

The red-band trailer is likely to be the same one shown at NYCC, but that's not a bad thing. So far, we've seen the bootlegged version, which I thought gave a really cool retro vibe to the film. I'm curious to see how I'll feel after seeing a more "refined" trailer. The trailer seems to be winning over more and more folks who were against the remake to begin with, but there are still plenty who are not feeling it. And that's cool. I can respect that. However, I'm down with this. I think it's quite possible that they've made something worthwhile.

EVIL DEAD, starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, and Jessica Lucas is slated to start the chainsaw and spew the blood on April 12, 2013.

Extra Tidbit: Are you a swing state for this flick or are you adamantly for or against it?

Weak POS!+-

The best part of the original (well remake/Evil Dead 2) was the comedy mixed in with horror. I expected more than just another dime a dozen gore horror flick. I won't waste my money.

I bet Bruce is loving the fact that he won't have to get red corn syrup poured over his face again. I still have no plans to see this, but with him and Raimi so excited over it, who knows? Maybe it won't suck that much

Dosnt matter, Comic Con now a days is attended by a bunch of celebrity watchers who love everything. These are the same people that marked out for the Transfomers movie panels.

Ugh, a teaser for a teaser we've already seen, and for a movie I will never see.

Fuck this movie.

When are they going to learn that the whole "Great response at Comic Con" means shit to the majority of us average movie goers (schmoes)?

As far as the movie goes - I dont care if they remake movies or not. If it sucks, then it sucks. If its good then it deserves credit. However Raimi has produced some shitty horror movies over the past dozen years, and Bruce Campbell has made a TON more bad movies than good ones, so their blessings for ED remake mean squat to me.

I came into this series through Army of Darkness because I loved the blend of comedy with horrific images. I thought Evil Dead 2 was the best version of gory horror and slapstick comedy and the first Evil Dead was just a boring B movie that tried too hard to be scary. So I hate that they're going the serious route with this and treating it like ED2 and Army of Darkness never happened. There is no reason in the world why Evil Dead 4 shouldn't/doesn't exist. This whole thing is just greedy and

Keep in mind, bro, Evil Dead came out long before Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness came out. For those of us who watched them in order, it was a steady progression that just got better as it went. This one is just staying true to the intentions of the first film. Besides, nobody's gonna do Bruce justice if they remade it all slapstick and silly.

Just wondering....

If this will be more like Evil dead 1 focusing more on horror or Evil dead 2 with an equal combination of horror and comedy. I'm good with either one.
