With directors Michael and Peter Spierig's SAW franchise revival JIGSAW set to reach theatres this Friday, this is the perfect time for a teaser trailer to be released for their next genre project, WINCHESTER: THE HOUSE THAT GHOSTS BUILT.

Based on real events, WINCHESTER stars Helen Mirren, Jason Clarke, Sarah Snook, and Angus Sampson in the story of

firearm heiress Sarah Winchester, who was convinced that she was haunted by the souls killed at the hands of the Winchester Repeating Rifle. After the sudden deaths of her husband and child, she threw herself into the 24-hours a day, seven days a week construction of an enormous mansion designed to keep the evil spirits at bay. But when skeptical San Francisco psychiatrist Eric Price is dispatched to the estate to evaluate her state of mind, he discovers that her obsession may not be so insane after all. The film will take audiences inside the labyrinth-like house that is believed to be one of the most haunted places in the world.

A teaser poster for WINCHESTER arrived online just yesterday, and now the teaser trailer is online as well. That trailer is embedded below, and it does a nice job of setting up the concept and tone of this haunted house film. It looks pretty good, despite featuring a version of the cliché "scary thing appears when a mirror is moved" jump scare.

WINCHESTER is scheduled to reach theatres just three months after JIGSAW, on February 2, 2018.
