Teen Wolf on TV
In this week's edition of "Let's F*ck-Up the 80s Every Possible Way". that really fun Michael J. Fox B-classic Teen Wolf, and it won't even be a half-decent motion picture remake but a TV show. On MTV above all. Rock on, kids.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the music network (do they still play music?) has ordered a pilot from a script commissioned back in January, to cash in on the tween horro-mantic genre that TWILIGHT so graciously made hugely popular. "Criminal Minds" creator Jeff Davis wrote the pilot script with a high school setting and obligatory romantic plot line.
"It has a fresh take and is very different from the original," said MTV exec Liz Gateley, in a statement that in no way feels reassuring. "It has more of an 'American Werewolf in Paris' feel to it. It's a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the center who provide a great comedy element." Sounds a little like "Reaper"; maybe they should pick THAT up instead. Besides, if it's SO different, why call it Teen wolf??? How 'bout X-TREME PUBERTY? Any other suggestions?
