Tessa Thompson to suit up with Chris Hemsworth for MIB spinoff

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Marvel's Valkyrie and Odinson, who liberated the people Sakaar in THOR:RAGNAROK ,look as if they'll be teaming up, once again, when work on the planned MEN IN BLACK spinoff gets underway! According to a article published by The Hollywood Reporter, ANNIHILATION actress Tessa Thompson is set to join Chris Hemsworth for F. Gary Gray's MEN IN BLACK spinoff film.

Written by Matt Holloway (IRON MAN, PUNISHER: WAR ZONE) and Art Marcum (TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST NIGHT), Sony's reboot of the sci-fi comedy series will feature a cast of new MIB agents looking to keep the world safe from menacing alien threats. Whether or not any characters from the original series will return has not been confirmed at this time, though Sony has announced a release date of June 14, 2019 for the in-demand reboot.

For the time being, Hemsworth has yet to sign on the dotted line for the project, though sources close to the film suspect that this will happen soon. Those same people have also stated that while little is known about the film thus far, they suspect that it will be "more global" in nature.

Does this mean that we can expect a globe-trotting MEN IN BLACK adventure? Will Thompson and Hemsworth's proven on-screen chemistry pave the way for fans to get re-energized about the comic-action franchise? We'll have to wait for some more details to know for sure, though there's no time like the present to let us know what you want from a MEN IN BLACK spinoff. Who would like to see as the film's villain, and what would their planet of origin be? Let us know in the comments section below.

F. Gary Gray's MEN IN BLACK spinoff will beam into theaters on June 14, 2019.
