WOLFMAN VS. FRANKENSTEIN. FREDDY VS. JASON. ALIEN VS. PREDATOR. DOLLMAN VS. DEMONIC TOYS. And now we can add SADAKO V KAYAKO (the monsters from THE RING and THE GRUDGE, respectively) to the pantheon of horror movie beat-em-ups. Not only that, but we now have a new trailer that shows these two J-horror icons duking it out:
Holy shit does that look as goofy as it does awesome. Honestly, that crappy pop-rock song does the trailer no favors. But as a fan of FREDDY VS. JASON, and a fan of the respective Japanese film franchises, I am definitely looking forward to this. Hopefully it's done tastefully and mixes both creepy atmosphere with intense and horrifying fight sequences. But if it devolves into camp as two child ghosts kung-fu each other, I won't complain either.
Now while SADAKO V KAYAKO was released in Japan in June of last year, it will be released in the US exclusively on the horror streaming platform Shudder January 26th, 2017.
