01.12.2016

The 2015 movie award season is now underway, which means the 15th Annual JoBlo.com Movie Awards (aka The Golden Schmoes) are gearing up to join the race. What's unique about the Golden Schmoes is that YOU get to choose the nominees and YOU choose all of the winners by casting your vote. For those experiencing the Golden Schmoes for the first time CLICK HERE for our FAQ and HERE to see what it's all about.

You can start chiming in on some great movies/performances/etc. of the year in the COMMENTS SECTION below (you'll need to be a registered member of Movie Fan Central to do so). Since it's easy to forget some of the better or overlooked performances, movies, etc. from the past year, this is a good time to remind everyone of them. The nominations process will take place during the final two weeks of January (Again, you must be a  registered member of Movie Fan Central in order to nominate your favorites) and the final voting will take place in February on the official site (ANYONE can vote for these). See the past winners/nominees below, along with a visual of all the FAVORITE MOVIE winners since the beginning.

Now's the time to catch up on all the flicks you may have missed, tally those lists, and prepare to nominate the flicks that you think are the best of the past year. It's all up to you!

Let everyone know your favorite performances and films of 2015 BELOW!

Ok then let me explain my reasoning behind my choices. If you kindly read the FAQ on the Golden Schmoes awards, it mentions...
"we would seriously ask EVERYONE to vote ONLY for those movies which you have seen"
As I mentioned at the end, I haven't seen many of the award season films, so I didn't vote for them. The same thing goes for bad movies such as Fantastic Four, Pixels and Chipmunks. I haven't seen them, so I didn't put any votes towards them. I have no doubt they were worse than Age of

As a red blooded American heterosexual he-man male... I second his notion. Channing Tatum gets my vote for male T&A. Magic Mike is sexy as hell

I concur with the idea. My vote would go to Chris Hemsworth and his fake (I think lol) penis is Vacation.....which was a terrible fucking movie btw.

Thank you! As a hetero lady who's been voting for dude T&A for the past 2 years I asked The Powers That Be for a guy-equivalent category but no go. At least so far. It's nice to know there's guys who think there should be one too. Sexual Objectification for All! (Especially this year, from me, for Joe Mangianello and Chris Evans)

For Your Consideration: Alicia Vikander should be recognized for "The Danish Girl", "Ex Machina" and "The Man From UNCLE". Three very different roles, all played to near perfection. Star Wars used practical effects, the vast majority of alien characters were physically real and not just computer FX. Mad Max had good FX, but Star Wars brought back real props.

Oh, cool

I look forward to the Golden Schmoes every year.
This year, everyone will remember Disney's movies, The Hateful Eight, and Mad Max. When nominating, please do not forget "smaller" big releases such as Bridge of Spies, The Big Short, Sicario, Pawn Sacrifice, and The Night Before. Consider especially giving some loving to "hidden gems" such as Backcountry, Predestination, Faults, Hell and Back, 99 Homes, Tales of Halloween, and We are Still Here.
