The 2011 Cannes Film Festival lineup!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The Cannes Film Festival unveiled its lineup for 2011 and it’s very much what you would expect from Cannes. There’s the Woody Allen film (MIDNIGHT IN PARIS), the big Hollywood blockbuster playing out of competition (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES), the Terrence Malick film that has been rumored for about three years (TREE OF LIFE) and the latest movies from Pedro Almodovar, Lars von Trier and Gus Van Sant. The “Cannes Formula” aside, it’s a very strong lineup this year with THE BEAVER, the Ryan Gosling action flick DRIVE, Sundance hit MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE and the latest Takashi Miike all showing up.

I’m guessing we might also see some KUNG FU PANDA 2 shenanigans on the Croisette as DreamWorks is fond of pimping its May releases in Cannes (remember Jerry Seinfeld doing the zipline thing for BEE MOVIE?).

Here’s a full list of all the movies playing at Cannes and the categories they’re screening in:
