The Aerial trailer

This one just looked too interesting not to share. Argentinian filmmaker Esteban Sapir’s indie film THE AERIAL (aka LA ANTENA) appears to be a unique blend of Fritz Lang’s METROPOLIS, some Murnau, a dash of Guy Maddin, a little Orwell, a dose of DARK CITY, a hint of UZUMAKI, and a dozen other influences all combined to create some fascinating imagery.

The metaphorical retro-noir sci-fi story, seemingly done in silent film style but playing like an animated comic book, is set in a “city that has lost its voice. Mr. TV, the owner of the city’s only television channel, is carrying out a sinister, secret plan to subject all of the city’s inhabitants to his will forever more.” It’s been making the film festival rounds — No idea when we’ll get to see it, but I hope it’s soon. (Warning: nipples.)
