The Batmobile chases down the Joker in these on-set videos of Suicide Squad

05.26.2015

Rumors have spread that Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne/Batman will show up in SUICIDE SQUAD in some capacity. Whether it'll be a post-credits scene, flashback, or the Joker's wet dream is anyone's guess, but at the very least we now know the Batmobile will come into play. Thanks to a multitude of Instagram users in Toronto, we have some of that video footage in action!

Okay, so few people are sold on the look of some of these characters (most notably, the Joker) but on-set pictures/video can be deceiving. After all, one look at the above doesn't paint a very exciting picture, but it's all about context. Frankly, I've come to be pretty indifferent about most comic book films until they're released. In DC and Warner Bros.' case, the pressure is on them to deliver something Marvel hasn't. For better or for worse, I believe they're going to do exactly that.

SUICIDE SQUAD will hit theaters on August 5, 2016.

So I want to know how much of the effects budget is going to be spent on digitally removing people with their cell phones filming the shooting of the movie.

I just the hope the addition of Affleck as Batman in this film feels organic and natural and not forced and shoehorned, just for the sake of putting Batman in this.

Give me a break. This movie looks terrible and you know it. From the piss poor director to the impossibly awful Joker.

It's not really Joblo's fault, if you don't want the spoilers don't read the article. If you aren't reading the articles and just feel the headlines are too spoilery then I understand your point. that makes sense. Otherwise, you know what it is. It's not their job to account for everything you read. Their job is to report film news. This qualifies. Beyond that you're responsible.

That said, between Suicide Squad and Captain America: Civil War the entire plot and every sequence of both movies is going to be public knowledge well in advance of the films' release. It's crazy how many holes they have in their OpSec. Maybe something like this is unavoidable in the modern day, but you could have a comprehensive idea of the plot points and action scenes in both movies just from the daily coverage of people with cell phones and Instagram. Stanley Kubrick would've had these people assassinated on the spot. The last thing their cell phone would've recorded would have been a silenced gunshot and the phone's uninhibited fall to the ground before it was stomped on by some SAS mercenary Kubrick befriended in England. SK didn't play games.

Is Joblo determined to spoil everything? Why put headlines for the articles that contain information that people may not want to know? You guys are doing this more and more. Please stop.

Shut up. Seriously. Just disconnect yourself from the internet if you are going to have a hissyfit over finding out there is a scene where Batman chases Joker. That isn't a spoiler in any sense.

Technically it is a spoiler. It's letting us know plot/character connections before watching the movie. We know that Batman is somehow in Suicide Squad. That's something not everyone knew before now. Hence, a spoiler. So why don't you pipe it?

It absolutely is a spoiler. Some people do not like to know about scenes that happen in movies. Some of us still care to be surprised. It is not that difficult to have the headline read something like...New set videos from Suicide Squad. Then people can choose whether or not to click on the article or not. But when the headline tells you what it is, then they are not giving people a chance to decide if they want to know or not. By taking out the spoiler in the headline, it does nothing to

By taking out the spoiler in the headline, it does nothing to prevent people from still clicking on the article but at the same time prevents people, like myself, from seeing things they don't want.

Well now I might as well just skip that film since JoBlo spoiled everything for everyone.

Or maybe I could just stop browsing movie news websites...

I get why you're upset, but giving people the option to opt out of reading an article is a very poor marketing decision. The whole point of having a website is to get page views. Sure you might piss people off by having a title that contains spoilers, but even many of those people will read the article anyway. Even if one would want to complain about it, they'd likely just go to the article and write an angry comment. It sucks, but no website is going to give up page views to spare a few

It sucks, but no website is going to give up page views to spare a few fanboys from getting pissed. Especially when the same spoiler-heavy headlines are on the facebook sidebar and reddit pages. Unless you get off the internet, you're bound to read a spoiler in a headline if you read movie news at all.

Next year is BIG for Warner Bros./DC. If they don't succeed with either Suicide Squad or BvS, then they're out of the game in my opinion.

Haha obviously. Their entire basis for the next 8-10 years would be destroyed actually. WB would be set back immensely.
