The Breadwinner team to develop Daughter of Bells animated film

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It's been announced that Aircraft Pictures, the independent film, TV and digital media production company, will once again team with THE BREADWINNER screenwriter, Anita Doron, for a new feature animation project entitled DAUGHTER OF BELLS.

According to the film's producers, the tale of DAUGHTER OF BELLS tells of an attack on the fictional city of Cadenza that sees all inhabitants turned to stone — save one brave girl named Brio who sets out on a quest for help. While on her journey, "Brio's encounters with the rhythmic tribes of the Madrigal Desert lead her on an journey of musical discovery as she searches for the key to restoring life in Cadenza and creating harmony for all."

Doron's work on THE BREADWINNER, which she co-wrote with Deborah Ellis, was recently nominated for an Annie Award for best screenplay as well as Canadian Screen Award for best adapted screenplay. With this in mind, it should come as no surprise that Aircraft would jump at the chance to work with her again on DAUGHTER OF BELLS. Should the stars align, Doron's unique writing prowess should lend well to a surreal odyssey of sound and synchronicity.

We'll be sure to keep you up to date when more news related to DAUGHTER OF BELLS rings out. Meanwhile, THE BREADWINNER arrives on Digital, Blu-Ray, and DVD on March 6th.
