The Expendables gets a poster and you get a boner | Movie News

UPDATE - Our man at ShoWest, Ryan, wrote in with a brief impression on the official trailer, which just premiered at the fest: There seems to be a lot of hype surrounding Sylvestor Stallone's action flick The Expendables, which, among other things, brings Dolph Lungron back to the big screen (a feat in and of itself). Earlier tonight, the ShoWest crowd was treated to a new trailer for the film, which greatly improves upon the earlier internet-exclusive teaser. There are plenty of explosions and one-liners throughout, and even cameos by Bruce Willis and Arnold himself. If the enthusiasm of the crowd is any indication, this movie is going to be a huge hit.

One of the films that we're most looking forward to this year is definitely THE EXPENDABLES, despite the fact that the folks behind the film, Lionsgate, ignores us like we're expendable ourselves (zing!). The film is slated to hit theaters on August 13th, but today we see what is most likely the film's teaser poster (at least I hope so) which didn't do much for me personally, especially since I've already seen that "skull figure" in a variety of its art so far. Mind you, I looooove the weapons and shit!

Look at the names at the top of the poster though: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke! Not to mention Eric Roberts, Dolph Lundgren, Danny Trejo and fun cameos like Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis (oh, and hottie Charisma Carpenter). Seriously man, show me a list and let me sign up today! That said, here's hoping the next poster actually shows us some of these dudes, instead of just their last names. Or better yet: character posters!!! What think you guys?
