Josh Boone is reuniting with a couple of old friends to work on NEW MUTANTS over at 20th Century Fox.
Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who collaborated on the screenplay for THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, in addition to THE SPECTACULAR NOW, have been brought on to tackle the writing duties for the X-MEN spin-off.
Launched as the first-ever X-Men comics spin-off in 1982, NEW MUTANTS once again revolves around a group of mutants as they deal with the fact that they have extraordinary abilities and powers. For the film, that mix of individuals will include Danielle Moonstar, Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Cannonball, Magik and Warlock.
Simon Kinberg will produce, and no release date has been announced yet for the film. Hmmm… Would you look at that? Time for a script to develop before a studio needs it to go into production to make a certain day on the calender? Who does that anymore?
