The final countdown continues in the international In Time trailer

08.26.2011by:

I don't know what to make of IN TIME. It's from writer/director Andrew Niccol whose GATTACA is an underappreciated bit of genius from the 90s. But something about the feel of IN TIME just strikes me as odd. It feels just so lifeless. I actually really like Justin Timberlake, but none of his natural charisma is coming forth there. Why get Justin Timberlake to have him stand around and mope like Keanu Reeves?

I was hoping this new international trailer would sell me on something that was missing from the US trailer but not really. In fact, it seems a little spoilery. Take a look below and let me know what you think...

Wow.. I didn't know Matt Bomer was in this. Glad to see his career slowly move from TV to the Big Screen. Count me in!

I'm not a fan of Justin Timberlake as an actor but this does look good.
I just wish In Time had more style going for it. It's got the substance but the visuals are lackluster.

This trailer actually worked better for me. The emphasis on the few trying to be immortal could have timely political undertones, if executed properly.

I'm not 100% sold, but I think it looks interesting at the very least. I like the premise a lot, Andrew Niccol is occasionally really brilliant (not only did he do Gattaca, but he wrote The Truman Show), and Cillian Murphy in anything is usually pretty awesome. I'm not 100% sold on Timberlake, Seyfried, or Wilde, so I could see this going drastically either way.

I think this looks cool as shit.

It's a really novel concept that I dig, I'm on neither side of Justin Timberlake, he's done some good work and some terrible work. If only this was R, but there's no way.

This looks weak. Especially Timberlake. No leading man material. He should stick to music.
