The first Avengers: Age of Ultron set video teases Hulk smashing
Filming is underway on THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON in South Africa, and set photos have already begun making the rounds online for what appears to be an action sequence involving what could be the Hulk himself. The images feature cars and trucks being lobbed around as people scurry into the distance. Below we have a clip of the action as a truck is spun around and smashed, possibly at the hands of the big guy.
Of course, with THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON being a CGI heavy film, this could really be anyone causing the destruction, but set reports from onlookers have seen the green FX dummy of the Hulk being used for the sequence, as you can see in the second clip below. If you have seen the featurettes and making of footage for the first AVENGERS, you know that when that Hulk head is present on set, the big guy is part of the scene. Seeing the two crew-members lugging around the green head doesn't look like the most glamorous way to be a part of the movie's creation, but it does give us some insight of Banner's reintroduction being in Johannesburg.
The South Africa sequences are said to take place in the opening part of the film, so this may serve as Mark Ruffalo's first appearance in the film. Both Scarlett Johannson and Chris Hemsworth are said to be on location, so this could be the gathering of the team for the first time since the events of the first film, but that is all conjecture until we learn more about the movie. Either way, the choreography for the shoot looks intensive, so hopefully the action is as well designed as it was in the first film.
THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader opens May 1, 2015.
