The first images from the action figure adaptation Max Steel

Jul. 3, 2014by:

Unbeknownst to me, MAX STEEL is a line of action figures that have been produced by Mattel since 1997. Not only that, there has been two animated TV series’ based on the figure that the kids seem to enjoy. Now a science-fiction action adventure film directed by Stewart Hendler and written by Christopher Yost (THOR: THE DARK WORLD) is on the way next year and we have the first images to show you.

First up, the synopsis:

Max Steel is an origin story that will chronicle the adventures of 16-year old Max McGrath and alien companion Steel, who must harness and combine their tremendous new powers to evolve into the turbo-charged superhero Max Steel. As these two unlikely friends struggle to accept their oddly connected fates, they begin to uncover unimaginable secrets, working together to find the truth, and fighting the mysterious forces threatening their world.

Disney XD star Ben Winchell stars as Max Steel, Andy Garcia is the mysterious Dr. Miles Edwards, Maria Bello plays Max’s mom, and Ana Villafañe looks to give him the feels as some form of love interest. I’m always up for a new superhero movie; the trailer will say more about the images released though, so we await that now. I’m intrigued still, maybe it can offer something different than what we have been seeing over the past few years which is mainly just dark grim shit.

What do you guys know about MAX STEEL and are you looking forward to the big screen change?

Needs To Make A Proper Fist

Little things about productions show whether they give a crap about what they're producing. He's shown punching through a concrete pillar with his thumbs pointed forward. It's a sure way to break or dislocate the thumb, no matter how tough you're supposed to be. Ben Winchell obviously has no martial arts training and the producers aren't getting him any.

True, that is irritating. I know when I'm punching through concrete pillars I always ensure my thumb is not pointed forward. At least that's how I was trained to punch through concrete pillars by the martial arts expert, known in most circles as the Concrete Punching Dragon of Osaka.

It really grinds my gears when Hollywood doesn't get their actors the proper martial arts training to punch through concrete pillars. I mean, now this movie about a kid fighting crime while wearing an alien

are you guys for real or what? first off all actors do go through training, not for punching through walls, but for fighting - hey wait i get it, you cannot actually punch through walls - the point is that its an incorrect position for punching.

its not a fucking deal breaker for the movie, i just thought it looked odd thats all. time get a fucking sense of humor.

The max steel I remember was in the 80's a trash can looking robot that had a team of other trash cans called max steel's roboforce that fought a group of evil trash cans. The current max steel is an American rip off o0f the uk's actionman who also had toys and show (combo live/animated) here in the us back in the late 90's who was a rip off of mexico's kid acero who was a rip off Big jim's P.A.C.K. wich was a reimagining of big jim.

I watch the new Max Steel cartoon with my nephew and it's pretty good, aside from our hero being a jerk from time to time. Caption for last picture: "I'm not Andy Garfield!!".
